Health Data Review

The need for a local Behavioral Risk Factor Survey (BRFS) to collect local health data on our community was identified by members of the Healthy Berrien Consortium. Many member organizations contributed toward the cost of the very first Berrien County BRFS assessment in 2002 that was conducted by the Berrien County Health Department in association with Michigan State University.
The BRFS is conducted by the health department every three years. The epidemiologist for the BCHD is currently analyzing the data collected in 2008. For specific county-wide health information when comparisons to state or national health data are desired please contact the Berrien County Health Department’s Epidemiologist.
